Mrs. Zelia A. Hanson COOKE, 73, of 10 Garden St., Farmington, widow of David R. COOKE, formerly an active clubwoman, died Thursday at a local convalescent hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, November 13, 1884. She was a charter member of Charity Court, Order of the Aramanth, and of Floral Court, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Central Baptist Church. A writer and poet, she had several articles published.
She leaves a son, C. Gary COOKE of Rocky Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel LAURIETTI of Farmington, with whom she made her home and Mrs. Doris BUSH of Fillmore, California; a brother, Arthur HANSON of Newton, New Hampshire; a sister, Mrs. Bessie KNEELAND of Georgetown, Massachusetts, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 776 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Burial will be in Granby Center Cemetery, Granby.
