Marge (Holden) Hurley, 96, of Sioux Falls, died Monday, April 07, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Friday, April 11, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1501 West 26th Street, Sioux Falls, SD with private interment at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue with the Family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and a Liturgical Wake Service at 7:00 PM.

Marjorie Irene Donahoe, daughter of Royal M. and Irene C. (Mundt) Donahoe, was born December 29, 1917 at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. The family lived in Hartford until she was 2 years old when they moved to Sioux Falls. She attended Cathedral Catholic School where she received her High School Diploma. She worked at Kresge Dollar Store, Kinney Shoe Store and then worked for Northwest Security National Bank in Sioux Falls.

Marge was united in marriage with Floyd “Doc” Holden on September 27, 1937 at Sioux Falls, SD. She worked in a bank in Miami, FL while they were stationed there. They started a family, and she enjoyed being a homemaker with their four children. “Doc” died April 14, 1950.

Marjorie was fortunate to find love again when she was united in marriage with John “Jack” Patrick Hurley on February 2, 1957 at Ft. Sill, OK. They enjoyed the birth of one more child to their family. “Jack” died May 1, 2006.

She was a charter member of St. Joseph Cathedral, St. Mary Catholic Church, and St. Lambert Catholic Church, and a current member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Marge had been very active in Church and the women’s groups. She loved sewing, cross stitch, cooking and baking. She enjoyed sports and was very active in the Ladies City Golf League where she had served as president. Marge adored her grandchildren and watching them play sports. She enjoyed bingo and an occasional trip to the casino. Marge had beautiful white hair and enjoyed her “Beauty Shop” visits each week.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Douglas Holden and his wife, Judy, Sioux Falls, SD, Greg Holden and his wife, Mary Ann, Sioux City, IA; three daughters, Judy (Larry, dec.) Hoganson, Moorhead, MN, Sherry Lance and her husband, Alan, Culpeper, VA, Jackie Brende and her husband, Doug, Worthing, SD; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy "Bud" Donahoe and his wife, Mary Lou, Sioux Falls, SD; and one sister, Patricia Fokken, Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd “Doc” Holden, and husband, John “Jack” Hurley; three grandchildren, Khris Hoganson, Patrick Holden, and Ben Brende; her parents; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Richard) Albertus, Agnes (Gordon) White, and Shirley (Howard) Wolfe; and one additional brother-in-law, Oliver Fokken.
