Harold H. Boyd, Sr., 88, of Doylestown, formerly of Somerset, died Jan. 21, 1986, in Doylestown Hospital. Born Feb. 15, 1897, in Bedford County, son of the late John H. and Harriet (Hixson) Boyd. Preceded in death by his first wife, the former Mary Espey; and his second wife, the former Jessie Lowry; also, four brothers: Zane, John, William and Glen; and a sister, Myra. Survived by these children: Myra, wife of Arthur L. Brown, Somerset RD 2; Thomas, New York; and Harold Jr., York, Pa.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Somerset; retired custodian in Somerset Area School District; and retired employee of Highlander Motel. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday (today) in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harry C. Sherry officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church. Daily American, January 23, 1986
