OTTUMWA – Bonnie Jean Headley, 61, of 615 E. Court St., died at 9 p.m. March 17, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born May 31, 1953 in Centerville to Fredrick and Bonnie Scarlett Houser. She married Richard Lee Headley on March 15, 1969. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, Bonnie worked as a C.N.A. at Ottumwa Manor and Vista Woods. She enjoyed fishing, taking care of her birds as well as planting flowers. Surviving is her husband, Richard; her children, Richard Headley of Ottumwa, Melody Headley (Joe Jones) of Eldon and Teresa Headley (Josh Durflinger) of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; siblings, Bill Bright, Donna Gillespie, Virgil Bright Jr., Joe Houser, Jimmy Houser and Irene Collett. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Micheal [sic] Lee and Ronda Sue; three sisters, Maxine Morgan, Ilene "Daisy" Griffiths and Sarah "Sadie" Reeves. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Reverend Virgil Bright officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society PO Box 1149 Ottumwa, IA 52501.
