Mrs. McCord was a member of the Eastern Star and the South Plains Women Golf Association. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Tahoka for 53 years. She and her husband owned and operated The McCord Motor Company for many years, but she was most proud of being a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Nancy McCord of Dallas, Gary and Sherri McCord of Tahoka, and Terry and Susan McCord of Dallas; two brothers, Frank Powell and Don Powell; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Powell; and a sister, Peggy Ann Powell. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Tahoka Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home of Tahoka
Memorials may be made to the Joe Arrington Cancer Research Center or the UMC Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of Lubbock.
