Funeral Sunday at Brunswick for Mrs. Mary Eastin
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Mary Elizabeth Eastin,81, for a number of years a resident of Brunswick, who died at her home Friday after an illness of several weeks the services were conducted from the Heisel Chapel by the Rev C.W. Staley, pastor of the Brunswick Baptist Church.
Mrs. Eastin was born may 8, 1862 on a farm six miles east of Salisbury, the daughter of Judge Dickson Hall & Martha Harrelson O'Bryan. As a child, she became a member of the Baptist Church at Pleasant Wood and in August 1887, She married William Penn Eastin. Mr. Eastin died July 2, 1898.
Mrs. Eastin was the last of nine children. Surviving her are three daughters and a son: Mrs. Aubrey Swope(Dixie)(whom she made her home with) Brunswick, Mrs. E.E. Keen(Martha), Moberly, Mrs. Tom Scott(Verlie) and William Eastin of Marceline. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Burial was in the Lower Cemetery, east of Brunswick.
