Delois H. Liddell - 1934-2015
Delois Hilgenfeld Liddell died peacefully on Tuesday July 21, 2015 in Newport Beach, California after a brief illness. Her family was at her side and surrounded her with love. Delois was born on September 21, 1934 in Electra, Texas to Jimmae and Howard Hilgenfeld. She graduated from Henrietta High School and started a career in accounting in the oil and gas industry, working for several companies in North Texas. She later met and in 1963 married Frank C. Liddell, a decorated WWII fighter pilot. They lived in Wichita Falls, Texas where they were blessed by the birth of their daughter Sara. In 1969, they moved to Houston where she had a rewarding career at Cockrell Oil Corporation. She enjoyed travel, spending many vacations in Colorado and Ruidoso, New Mexico, and after retirement travelled to Europe several times with friends. She loved her family and friends and her life was devoted to her three granddaughters Taylor, Reagan, and Peyton. Along with Sara they were the light of her life. Delois was preceded in death by her husband, parents and favorite aunt Odessa Thompson. She is survived by her daughter Sara Benson and her son-in-law Mark Benson and three granddaughters Taylor, Reagan, and Peyton, all of Newport Beach, California. We will miss her greatly but she will live in our hearts forever. A graveside service will be held in Henrietta, Texas at the Hope Cemetery on Wednesday, July 29th at 10:00 am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association.
