John K. Aasen, age 80, passed away on October 12, 2006, in his home. He lived in Trinity Center for 22 years and recently moved to Sacramento. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Northern Humboldt High School District--Arcata, McKinleyville.
John served in the Merchant Marine and the Army Air Corp during WWII and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., as well as a member of the Trinity Lake Lion’s Club. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and fishing. John spent several years as a volunteer with a dental clinic working in Baja California, Mexico and Costa Rica.
John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jeanne; his four daughters, Freddie, Sandy, Vickie, and Patty; as well as his son, Kelley. In addition, he has 5 grandchildren and 3 1/2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at his daughter’s home on October 21, 2006, at 3:00 P.M.
