Richard Lee Boyles, age, 74 of Marietta passed away July 25, 2015. A Funeral Service was held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Interment was in Lebanon Church Cemetery in Scotia, SC.

Mr. Boyles was born August 16, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia, and grew up in Charlotte, NC. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he met his wife Carole Causey. He was a member and officer of the Charlotte Bachelor’s Club from early 1960’s to 1966. After marrying and having two sons, Richard moved to Marietta in 1970 to work for the IRS and later Edwards Baking Company. In his later years he worked for Cobb Senior Services as a bus driver and then supervisor of senior bus transportation.

Richard was a long time member of Roswell Street Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, department director and member of many church committees.

Richard is survived by his wife Carole Causey Boyles; sons Richard L. Boyles Jr, of Canton and Marion C. Boyles and his wife Lori Smith of Smyrna and granddaughter Chloe Smith of London, England; sisters Ann Brown (Jim) and Linda Black (Rick) of Charlotte, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Albert Reid (Buster) Boyles and Mildred Spivey Boyles and sister Alene Adams.
