Obituary in Abergavenny Chronicle 15 November 1918: LIEUT. MATTHEW MORGAN. The funeral took place at the New Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon of Lieut. Matthew Morgan, S.W.B., husband of Mrs. Rose Morgan, I Holly Terrace, North-street. The deceased, who was the sixth son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Morgan, of the Tudor Arms, emigrated to Canada some years ago. He died on Friday last 'at Liverpool, following an attack of influenza. He leaves, in addition to his widow, two children. The funeral was largely attended. The chief mourners were Mrs. Morgan (widow), Mr. Neville (father-in-la ), Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Morgan (brother and sister-in-law), Pte. White (Cana dians) and Mrs. White (brother-in-law and sister), Sergt. Edward Morgan and L.-cpl. Willie Morgan (nephews), Missjieatrice Neville (sister in law), Mr. Amos Be A firing party of one officer and 12 men was supplied by the S.W.B. from Brecon and the band of the S.W.B. were in attendance and joined in the Last Post," which was first sounded on the bugle. A party of local Volunteers acted as bearers. The burial ceremony was conducted by the Rev. J. Stanley- Davies, MIA.
