Thomas Jefferson Allen married Delia Mae Beeman on December 26, 1844 in Adair County, Missouri and they had five children. Thomas and Delia were divorced in Adair County, Missouri in 1863.
His second marriage was to Julia Cole.
T. J. Allen, died at the home of his son-in-law, Lower Kibler in Wayne township, on March 29th, 1891, of lung trouble after an illness of about three years. He was born in Morgan County, Illinois on October 24th 1822. He came to Macon Co. Mo. with his parents when quite young. He was married twice the first time to Miss Delia Beeman, and the second to Miss Julia Cole. He lived in Missouri until about nine years ago when he moved to Troy, Kansas, he remained here about two years and then moved to Franklin, Neb. where he lived until about six weeks ago when he returned to Doniphan Co. He leaves his wife and nine children to mourn his loss. How uncertain is life, and how sure is death, our dear father has passed away from his earthly home to join the angels in a fairer land where there are no aches and pains and no sad heart. No kind and pleasant words will we ever hear from his dear lips but we feel that he has found sweet and peaceful rest. He was ready when the Lord called him.
