When he was a boy, his family moved to Jackson, Ms. After he married his first wife, Mary Lou Mozingo, they moved to Arizona. Matha and Mary Lou did not have children of their own , they did adopt a daughter after they had moved from Arizona to Jones County, Mississippi. Matha and Mary Lou marriage ended in divorce.
