Mr. Robert Charles Barnes, 73, of Blairsville, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mr. Barnes was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, on October 24, 1941, a son of the late Edgar Charles Barnes and the late Eleanor Frances Sykes Barnes. He had lived in Blairsville since 1997, moving here from Marietta, Georgia. An avid golfer and reader, Robert was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County. He had been preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eleanor Elizabeth Bufalini.

Surviving family members include his wife, son, and son and daughter-in-la and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be scheduled and announced later.

If you wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, or to First United Methodist Church Methodist Activity Center.
