Mr. Alger, born in Skamokawa, Wash., May 29, 1880, spent most of his life inPortland and with the exception of 30 years in his native town where he operated the Alger Logging Co. He was a member of Portland Lodge 55, AF&AM; Scottish Rite Masons, and Al Kader Shrine.
He is survived by the widow, Elise; a son, Hollis, Portland; a daughter, Mrs. Frances J. Puusti, Astoria, and one grandchild.
