William "Bill" Robert Molitor, 64, of Elgin, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 12, 1951 in Chicago, the son of Elmer and Jeanne (Baxley) Molitor-Thelen.

Bill attended St. Joseph Elementary School in Elgin, IL and graduated from Saint Edwards High School in Elgin. He earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Elgin Community College. He worked for WRMN Radio as a play by play announcer for Elgin Community College basketball and football broadcasts.

He married his wife, Betty, of nearly 42 years in 1973. Bill coached Little League baseball for many years. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 40 years before retiring in 2011. Bill was a 30 year active member at Saint Thomas More Church. The family hosted exchange students from Germany and Japan for three years in the 1990's, Sonoko Nakaya from Japan, Christiane Thiel-Tylko from Germany, and Nadine Richter-Garcia Santana from Germany.

He is survived by his wife Betty Jean (Dominguez) Molitor; daughters Angela Rodriguez, Laura Christenson, Katie (Tim) Kostelancik and Rachel (Rick) Skarbonkiewicz. Grandchildren Joey, Jimmy, Sarah, Reanna, Danica. Siblings Yvonne (Michael) Vallone, Sandra (Greg) Godon, SueAnn Thelen, Sheryl (Mike) Brasel, Craig Thelen, Kevin Thelen, Byron Thelen, Peter Thelen, Michael Thelen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and step father, Leo Thelen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin. Burial will follow at Memorial Washington Cemetery in Rutland Township. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M - 8:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin and on Saturday morning at Saint Thomas More Church from 9:15 AM until the time of mass.
