Death of Mrs Bertha Rayley
Bertha May Peak Rayley was born in Brazilton, Kansas, October 14, 1882, and died in Larned Wednesday morning, August 1, at the age of 41 years.
The Peak family moved to Larned in 1906 and Bertha took charge of the household management until her marriage to Chester A. Rayley in Wichita, May 3, 1910.
to this union three children were born. Two boys, Eugene and Clarence, are with their father in Kansas City. The only daughter, Mary Margaret, was adopted this spring by Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Jones, south of Larned.
Mrs. Rayley had been ailing for the past three years but for the last nine months had been bedfast at her father's home, 123 Toles.
Mr. Peak accompanied the body to the old home in Brazilton, Kans., and the body was laid to rest beside that of her mother and two brothers.
Besides the three children, Mrs. Rayley is survived by her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Peak of Larned, three sisters, Mrs. C. E. Bodine of Mountain Grove, Mo., Mrs. Lucille Howell of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Harold Davison of Kansas City, Kans; four brothers, Leonard of Kansas City, Mo., Rollie of Brazilton, Kans., Raymond of Salt Lake City, Utah, W. E. of Denver, Colo.
