Edna Louise Witzig Adamson crossed over Jordan on July 17, 2015, at Providence Extended Care in Anchorage, Alaska, after a long illness. She had dementia and diabetes. Edna was born near Crawford, Neb, on April 26, 1923. She moved with her family to Idaho when she was still a child. When she was 20, she married Paul Thomas Adamson and together they raised five children. The couple worked in the shipyards at Vancouver, Wash., until the end of the war. Later they raised their family in Baker City, Ore., where three of their children graduated high school. Later they moved to Milton-Freewater, Ore., where the twins graduated high school. Mother's Day, May 1972, Paul, Edna, Bonnie and Lois started their one week journey to Anchorage, Alaska, where their three other children already lived. When Paul retired they moved back to Milton-Freewater until unable to care for themselves properly and moved back to Anchorage, where their children were living. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mae (Oetken) Witzig; and two brothers, Harold and Carl; husband, Paul; son, Don; son-in-law, Tom Schill; and great-granddaughter, Erika. She is survived by her sister, Alice Smith (Dale); children, Paul E. Adamson (Sally Carr), Lois Tobuk (Bill), Bonnie Mulneaux (John) and Connie Schill (Tom); as well as eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made through Legacy Funeral Home, Heritage Chapel at Angelus. A memorial service is planned during the Family Reunion later this month new LaGrande, Ore. Her ashes will be placed with her husband, Paul, and their son, Don, at a later date at Baker City, Or.
