Mrs. A. E. Boon died early Monday Morn
After an illness lasting with a varying degree of seriousness for the past year and very serious for the past month, Mrs. A. E. Boone, Denton county pioneer woman and widow of the late Captain A. E. Boon. a prominent figure in the early days of the county, died Tuesday morning about 8 o'clock. She was 83 years of age and her old age with dropsy contributory caused her death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of W. M. Smoot, 163 West Sycamore Street, in charge of Rev. F. H. Watkins of the First Baptist Church of which she was a member. Internment will be made in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery with the following as pall bearers: W. C. Orr, Lee McCormick, W. F. Jarrell, J. P. Magee, Jack Christal, A. T. Bates, Jack Fry, M. L. Ramey.
Mrs. Boone was born in Kentucky in 1833 and at the age of eighteen she moved with her fathers family settling in Tarrent County. Later she came to Denton County where she lived to the time of her death with the exception of one or two years. In 1859 she was married to Captain E. Boone and to them were born two children, Mrs. W. Ed Smoot of Denton and Mrs. P. E. Saddler of Oklahoma City, Mrs. W. Ed Smoot of Denton and Mrs. P. E. Saddler of Oklahoma City, who survive her.
Mrs. Saddler was at the bedside pf her mother until a few days ago when she was called home on account of illness in her family which will prevent her coming here for the funeral.

Funeral services for Mrs. A. E. Boon, who died Tuesday, were held at the home of their daughter, Mrs. W. E. Smoot at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning with a large crowd of friends and relatives present. The services were conducted by Rev. F. H. Watkins, pastor of the First Baptist Church, after which internment was made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, The floral offerings were beautiful. The pallbearers were W. C. Orr, W. L. McCormick, W. F. Jarrell, J. P. Magee, Jack Christal, A. T. Bates, L. L. Fry and M. L. Ramey.
