Part of story from grandson, Dennis Lowry for the Winton Historical newsletter as told to Lorraine.

William Dean Adams and Josie Adams had a 40 acre ranch in the Fruitland area. They farmed grapes and later almonds and had a dairy herd of 22 cows. Besides his own farm, Dean, as he was usually called, was also a foreman on a 122 acre almond ranch. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge which met at the Winton Hall and active in other community organizations.

The Adams' grandson, Dennis Lowry helped milk the cows for his grandpa when he was 12 or 13 years old. This was during WWII and his uncles Kenneth and Harold were off fighting in the war.
