Rosary service for Arnold “Nufo” Aguirre, 70, of Slaton was held yesterday (Wednesday, Jan. 14) in Englunds Chapel here.
Celebration of life mass will be at 10 today in Slaton’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Peña officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Aguirre died Monday in Slaton.
He was born in Coleman on June 18, 1944. Aguirre moved with his family to Slaton in 1947 and attended Slaton schools.
He married the former Oralia Hernandez on Dec. 23, 1964, in Slaton.
Aguirre was a welder and sheet metal worker. He worked for Triangle Manufacturing, Sanco Metal Fab and retired from Triangle due to health reasons in 1996.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Demencio and Josefa Aguirre; and two brothers, Carlos and Wallie Aguirre.
Survivors include his wife, Oralia of the home; sons, Leonard (Alice) of San Antonio, Paul (Brenda), Albert (Lisa), and Arnold Jr., all of Slaton; a daughter, Julie Aguirre of Slaton; a brother, Dan (Esther) Aguirre; sisters, Amelia (Jesse) Ordaz, Cruz (Celestino) Rodriguez, Virginia (Raymond) Almanza, all of Slaton, and Eloisa (Richard) Robles of Coleman; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
