Frank was the son of German immigrants Frank X. and Pauline F. Marold; brother of Otto B., Walter J., Alma C., Carl J., and Robert G. Marold.
At the time of the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census, the family was living in Quincy, Illinois.
Frank's father passed away at age 49 in July, 1916, and was interred at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy Illinois on July 10, 1916. He was the son of Caroline Geiger and John Marold and was a saloon keeper at the time of his death.
Frank served in the U.S. Army, Ord. Det. 339th, F.A. 88th Division. He enlisted on September 21, 1917 and was honorably discharged on February 5, 1919.
Frank and Mabel were living in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1930. By 1940, they were living in Los Angeles, California, with Frank's 13-year-old son, Paul Marold*.
