I believe that Agnes' obituary, which I have transcribed below, contains several errors. Her deceased daughter's first name was Althea.
Mrs. Van L. Beer was her half-sister, not step-sister. Agnes' mother, Rosella Archer, was first married for a brief time to David Davis, on April 7, 1882, in Appanoose County, Iowa. They had a daughter Gertrude who was shown with George and Rosella Parson in the 1900 Census for Van Buren County, Iowa, as Gertie Parson, age 9. However, her name was shown as Gertrude Davis, when she married Van L. Beer on April 4, 1906. Van and Gertie Beer are buried in West Des Moines.
George Parsons was her half-brother, not her step-brother. Agnes' father, George Parson, was remarried on February 6, 1904, to Ella Rupe, in Van Buren County, Iowa, and George was their son. Also, his middle initial was R. and not E. It also appears that Agnes' birth family went both by the name of Parson and Parsons. George R. Parson is buried in the Harness Cemetery in Van Buren County, where his mother is also buried.
