Claude Brewer - age 84, of Loudon, peacefully went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by his family, Thursday, July 30 2015.
He was born on May 9, 1931 in Starritt, WV to the late Frank and Mary (Jones) Brewer.
A lifelong member of the Nazarene Church. Claude was a combat veteran, serving in the US Marines during the Korean War. He began working for Union Carbide of Loudon in 1957 and retired from Viskase Corporation, Loudon in 1988 after 31 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family and devoted his life to all of them.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his sister, Annabelle Deford; 9 brothers, Grant, Bob, Earl, Willard, Clarence, Paul, Estel, Glenn and Johnny Brewer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Sammie (Wells) Brewer; 5 children, Teala Brewer, Alexandria, VA, Claude Kimball (Sarah) Brewer, Knoxville, Cynthia (David) Brooks, Maynardville, Nancee Russell and Jimmy Marshall, Maryville, and Jana (Robert) Kennedy, Philadelphia; grandchildren, Amanda Oody, Crystal Oody, Amber Black, Bridget Geames, Courtney Ball, Candace West, Claude Kimball Brewer II, Tabbetha Kennedy, Cody Kennedy and Haylee Kennedy; 13 great grandchildren; Sister, Ella Mae Ballard, Charleston, WV, several nieces and nephews.
Services honoring and remembering Claude Brewer will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 3rd, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Gene Russell and Rev. Gene Farmer officiating. Interment to follow in Loudon County Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the US Marines and the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, Loudon. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, Aug. 2nd, McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, 406 Wharf St., Loudon, TN.
