Travis Lee Forrester, 77, of Mexia, passed away July 19, 2006, at his residence. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2006, in Blair-Stubbs Chapel. The Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate. Burial will be at Mexia City Cemetery.

Travis was born in Frost, Texas, to the late Arthur and Dovie (Smithey) Forrester. He served in the U.S. Army from November 27, 1948, to September 2, 1949. He was a retired Mexia State School employee and a member of the First Baptist Church in Mexia.

Survivors include his wife, Madie Forrester; daughter, Kathryne Forrester Pittman and her husband, Dr. Wesley E. Pittman, all of Mexia; and a grandson, Wesley Duke Pittman of Nacogdoches.
