Virginia "Honey" Johnson Diers was born July 29, 1921, the daughter of Melville Sydney Hiram and Emily Mann Johnson in Fort Bragg, California. She married Herman R. Diers, a Corporal in the US Army whom she met at Fort Ord, California where she was working at a USO center, shortly after the end of World War II and had two daughters---Nancy and Sherlyn. She died March 30, 1995 in Salinas, California and is burried at a family plot in Fort Bragg.
