By the time of the 1910 census, Minnie was living in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband, Robert I. Johnston, and a daughter, Ethel. Robert was listed as the manager of a plumbing company. That census indicated this was her second marriage. In the 1920 and 1930 censuses, Minnie was living with Robert in Chicago, Illinois; Robert was a bank clerk. The birth and death dates for Minnie were listed in her death certificate; however, her date of birth in various censuses ranged from 1864 to 1878.
