THOLL"She was born and reared in Barberton. She was a graduate of Barberton High School. Mrs. Tholl graduated from Flora Stone Mather College (Case Western Reserve), and received her master's degree from Columbia University. In addition to many interests, Mrs. Tholl's great love was for history, particularly Ohio's history. She compiled a volume of short stories of Ohio legends, which was published just a few years ago. She had been a member of many organizations, and served in office of most of them. She was a former national officer for the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cuyahoga Portage Chapter of the DAR, and past president of the Ohio State Association of Parliamentarians. Memberships have included the National Society, Daughters of the American Colonists, National Society of the Dames of the Court of Honor, the Pioneer Workers, United States Daughters of 1812, National Arbor Day Foundation, the Marionettes, Akron Women's City Club, and the Peninsula Garden Club.

In addition to her many civic activities, Mrs. Tholl's Peninsula home, known as Ledgewood Farm, in years past produced award-winning cattle. Mrs. Tholl will be remembered for her boundless energy, inquiring mind, and as a champion of many and varied worthwhile endeavors.

Mrs. Tholl was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Norman F. Rodenbaugh and Minnie May Rodenbaugh (nee Kepler) of Barberton, and her brother, Frederick Hugo Rodenbaugh. Mrs. Tholl's husband, Joseph Tholl, died in 1982; he was an internationally known handwriting expert in document examiner.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Farren of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Barberton officiating. Interment will be at Manchester Franklin Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider your favorite charity. (Campfield-Hickman-Collier, 745-3161.)
