Rev. Ronald R. Burcham , 71, of Carlinville, Ill., formerly of Granite City and Hartford, Ill., born May 7, 1938, in Tennessee Ridge, Tenn., went to be with the Lord at 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009.
He was a dedicated minister, reaching out to help others for more than 50 years. He had served as the pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in State Park, First Assembly of God Church in Trimble, Tenn., for five years, First Assembly of God Church in Hartford, Ill., for 16 years, and as the senior adults pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Granite City, Ill., for five years. He had also worked with the Illinois District at Lake Williamson for five years. He enjoyed working on clocks and time spent woodworking.
Surviving are his beloved wife, whom he married on July 7, 1989, at Lake Williamson in Carlinville, Ill.; daughter; son; stepdaughter; two stepsons; several grandchildren; great-grandson; two sisters; brother; other extended family and many dear friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his first wife, Alta, nee Osborn, Burcham, whom he married on Sept. 6, 1956, in Washington Park and who died on Dec. 12, 1988; grandson, Tony Combs; parents, Allan and Lillian, nee Black, Burcham .
Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice, 205 Oakland Avenue, Carlinville, Ill., 62626 and may be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at the First Assembly of God Church, 2317 Madison Avenue in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Brian Schmidgall officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
