Donald A. Epp, 92, of Beatrice, died Saturday morning, August 1, 2015 at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams. He was born on October 22, 1922 at rural Ellis and graduated from Union Center High School in 1942.

He married Marjorie A. Thimm on January 1, 1947 at the First Mennonite Church of rural Beatrice. He farmed and worked at Cominco for many years. He was a member of the Beatrice Mennonite Church and served as a deacon and trustee. He enjoyed basketball and baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Marj of Beatrice; three sons, Donald (Jeanette) Epp Jr, Roger (Elaine) Epp and Curt (Sarah) Epp; two daughters, Beth (Doug) Unruh and Denise (Robert) Schlake; nine grandchildren, Allison, Hillary, Elyse, Callie, Delaney, Mallory, William, Wesley and Lauren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Alice Wiebe, Irene Unruh and Carol Epp; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Minnie Epp, one son, Martin Gale Epp, one brother, Fred Epp, one sister, Betty Jane Thimm, and his parents-in-law, William and Margarete Thimm.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Beatrice Mennonite Church with Pastor Brett Klingenberg officiating.

Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the First Mennonite Cemetery of rural Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the Mennonite Central Committee and the BCH Hospice program with Ron Wiens and Jim Ensz in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday and not at the church on Thursday. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
