Gary was born in Anson, ME. He married Sandra Cushing on March 20, 1959 in Amityville, NY. Gary was a member of the United States Navy. Gary worked several jobs in his life; holding at least two jobs at a time. The last of his working years, he worked for the Town of Anson. Gary played Smoky the Bear, but the kids knew it was Gary as he always wore moccasins. He was very involved in his children's lives. He attended every baseball, basketball, soccer, field hockey and track and field events of his children. He graduated in 1957 from Anson Academy. He was a great father, brother, son and friend.
