Delora Mae Byrd Richardson, age 91, of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at her home in Swords Creek, Virginia with her family by her side.
She was born on April 2, 1924 in Swords Creek, Virginia to the late William C. and Rosa Whitt Byrd. Mrs. Richardson was a homemaker and lived all of her life in Russell County, Virginia. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and loved to garden, work puzzle books, and cook. She was a loving mother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband: Charlie Elmer Richardson, her son: Gerald Wayne Byrd, her daughter: Rosie Gaynell Miller, brothers: Harvey, Curtis, Clarence, Robert, and Hubert Byrd, sisters: Mary Hall, Maude Whitten, Grace Miller, Lorie Byrd, and Thelma Boyd.
She is survived by:

Funeral services for Delora Richardson will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with James Hall and Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Richardson Family Cemetery on Horton Ridge. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Gross, Wayne Justice, and Claude Reynolds.
