Billie Wayne Lister, 62, of Mokane passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015. He was born on July 29, 1953 in Russellville, Mo., the son of the late Walker “Dick” Lister and the late Lucille (Dudley) Lister. On May 14, 1994, Billie was united in marriage to Karen (Horstman) Lister. She survives his passing. Billie worked as an analyst for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 32 years. Always interested in the lives of his children and the community, he proudly served on the South Callaway School Board for 9 years. He was a dedicated father and was often found supporting his sons in their numerous activities. He enjoyed wine making and founded Lister Missouri River Bottom Winery. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his dogs, Boston and Bella. He was a member of the Mokane AMVETS. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remember by his wife of 21 years; sons, Dylan and Blake Lister, both of the home; brothers, Jerry Reed of Westphalia, and Rick Lister (Cherie Schmitz) of Jefferson City; sisters, Pat Baumhoer (Frank) of Westphalia, Sharon Kubitz (Gary) of Waulkon, Ia., Denise Howard of Jefferson City, and Debbie Opal (David) of California, Mo.; and sister-in-law Ruth Lister of St. Martins, Mo.. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Lister; and sister-in-law, Mary Reed. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Beth Duckworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Steedman Cemetery.
