Obituary for Kay "Bessie" Marie Moran Joachim
Kay “Bessie” Marie Moran Joachim was born on February 20, 1937 in Biloxi, Mississippi, the daughter of George M. Moran and Olga Moran. She passed away in Mobile, Alabama, on Friday, June 19, 2015.

Mrs. Joachim was a native of Biloxi, MS, resided several years in Baton Rouge, LA and returned recently to the Gulf Coast.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents, George and Olga Moran; a brother, Matthew Moran; four sisters, Janet O’Friel, Patricia Cannette, Barbara Jean Moran, and Brenda Nelson.

Kay is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robin (Bobby) Jude Joachim, Sr. with whom she raised five children; four sons, Robin (Bobby) Jude Joachim, Jr., of Lafayette, LA., Charles Louis Joachim, M.D. of Port Charlotte, FL, (Diana), Steven Francis Joachim (Kathy) of McHenry, MS and Christopher Frank Joachim of Baton Rouge, LA, and one daughter, Teresa (Terri) Lynn Joachim of Deltona, FL. She is also survived by three grandsons, Joshua John Joachim (Elizabeth) of D’Iberville, MS, Justin Steven Joachim of Ocean Springs, MS, Dexter Cole Kimsey of McHenry, MS and one great granddaughter, Darian Elizabeth Joachim.

Kay’s surviving sister is Judy Martino of D’Ibervile, MS. Her surviving brothers are Dennis (Danny) Moran of D’Iberville, MS and Donald Moran of Los Angeles, CA.

Mrs. Joachim enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. While residing on the Gulf Coast she attended Nativity B.V.M. Church. She was an accomplished seamstress, confectionary candy maker, an avid oil painter, a frequent guest at local casinos and a fierce competitor in family board games. Kay will be remembered for the dozens of baptismal gowns and Mardi Gras costumes that she generously donated her time and materials to make.
Mrs. Joachim was the former proprietor of Angelina’s Grocery and Delicatessen. While in Baton Rouge, LA., she was co-owner of a successful Mexican food distributorship and she also retired from The U.S. Geological Survey were she held the position of purchasing agent.

Family visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. on June 25th at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral’s Marian Chapel, 870 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS. Visitation for friends will be at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
