John was born Feb. 4, 1910 to the late Joseph and Theresa (Augustine) Krizenesky of Maple Grove. He married Eleanor Fogeltanz on Nov. 23, 1932. She preceded him in death on June 12, 1976.
He then married Nettie Kielgas and she preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 1998.
John was a tavern owner for more than 50 years. He enjoyed visiting with people and playing cards. He was a retired volunteer fireman for the Brillion Fire Department and an active member of the Brillion Lions Club. John was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Lyle and Liz Krizenesky of Texas; four daughters: Diane Branson of St. Louis; Susan Struebing of De Pere; Marlene Van Boxtel of De Pere; Barbara and son-in-law: Richard Drnec of Chicago; four grandchildren: Karla Krizenesky Saltzman, Tonya Krizenesky, Scott Struebing and Michelle Struebing Leffler; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. John O'Brien will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the Wiet-ing Funeral Home in Brillion from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 and then at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
