Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service by the Gardner Lodge 573, AF&AM at 8 p.m. at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home, Morris, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Charles Olson will officiate.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Morris, with military graveside services conducted by John Martin Steele Post 6049 VFW and Morris American Legion Post 294.
He was born Sept. 9, 1924 in Elmore, Minn., the son of June and Agnes Thorson Olson.
Surviving are his wife, , whom he married Dec. 31, 1958, at Morris; ; three sisters, Charlotte and William Fosen and Lorayne and William Knapp, both of Morris, and Arnette and Howard Burton of Mazon; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Mary Olson and Harold and Rose Olson, all of Morris; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, E.L. ''Butch'' Olson, is deceased.
Mr. Olson was employed with Self Locking Co. in Morris and together with his wife and family, owned and operated Olson's Tap and Lanes in South Wilmington for 17 years. Since 1993 they owned Olson's Mobile Home Park in Dwight.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of Cedar Lodge 124, AF&AM, in Morris and was a life member and past commander of John Martin Steele Post 6049 VFW in Morris.
