Mrs. Kenneth (Carmen V) Adkins 71, of Route 5 Newton died at 6:30 pm Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1985, at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral Services will be at 1 pm Friday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Bob Smith of the Methodist Church in Olney officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm tonight (Thursday). Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park of Newton.
Mrs. Adkins was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Jasper County, a daughter of William Henry and Clara Edith (McKimmey) Wilson. She married Clem Miller in 1923. He preceded her in death. She married Kenneth Adkins on Aug. 22, 1955, in Oak Lawn, and he preceded her in death March 10, 1982.
She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Martha Brooks of Route 4, Newton, Mrs. Retha Reynolds of Washington, Mrs. Gene (Dora) Weck of Neoga, Mrs. John (Jewell) Utley of Route 4, Robinson and Mrs. Russell (Fern) Meeks of Newton; three brothers, Merl Wilson of Newton, Eddie Wilson of Little Rock, Ark., and Wayne Wilson of Oblong; numerous nieces and nephews and several great-neices and great-nephews.
Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
