James Loveridge Thomas returned home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 19, 2015.

He was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Delta, Utah, to Charles Joseph Thomas and Verda Oppenheimer Thomas. Jim grew up in a big family of 10 children; he was the youngest of five boys.

After school, Jim served in the United States Navy.

He married Faye Bryant in 1955, and together had two daughters. They were later divorced.

He married Lucille Mellor on April 8, 1964. They moved to Tremonton, Utah, in 1976, where they raised their family.

Throughout his life, Jim was a hard worker. Early in life he worked on drill rigs in Colorado and Utah, but when he started driving truck for a mining company in Delta, he realized his passion.

He became an owner/operator and ran a trucking business for the better part of his working life. He loved driving truck and got to see the entire country during his career. Jim also worked in transportation at Thiokol for several years.

Jim was a friend to all, and always helped those in need. He and Lucille enjoyed their time together camping and fishing with family and friends, and their favorite place were Little Reservoir, Island Park and Henry’s Lake.

Jim was also an elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, brother William (Bill) Thomas, brother Eldon (Bus) Thomas, brother Jack Thomas, brother Bob Oppenheimer, sister Eileen Booth, sister Pat Millwee, sister Jeanie Cline, son-in-law Bruce Call, son-in-law Doug Henry and grandson Jacob Stanworth.
