Shirley Mayfield Bernard, age 79, was born on September 4, 1935 to Claude and Lucille Bowie Mayfield in Haynesville, LA and passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Homer, LA.
She was a native of Haynesville and a former resident of Ruston, LA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church; was a retired medical technician from Lincoln General Hospital and was director of the Lab and X-Ray Department at the North Claiborne Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Teri Shively and husband, Johnny of Hodge, LA; three sons, Thomas Ross Key, Jr. of New Orleans, LA, Daniel Bernard and Joseph Bernard both of Haynesville, LA; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; sister, Delores Craig of Henderson, TX and brother, Dick Mayfield of Haynesville, LA.
Mrs. Bernard was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Claudette Crump and grandson, Thomas Ross Key, III.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Haynesville, LA. A private interment will be held at Shady Grove Cemetery.
