Blues and Country Musician. She won the 1987 and 1988 W.C. Handy Award for Best Traditional Female Blues Artist. An accomplished electric guitar player and songwriter, she became one of the first female recording artists in the blues genre. Her career spanned more than five decades. Some of her notable albums include "She-Wolf" (1981) and "Feelin' Good" (1987).
