Walter E. Orth, age 81, of 419 E. Center St., Brillion, died unexpectedly Monday, August 30, 1993, at home.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Brillion. Father William O'Brien will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.

He was born Feb. 26, 1912, in Two Rivers, son of the late Edward and Minnie Lindenew Orth. He worked in construction until 1942.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the First Infantry Division. He made three E. Days, in 1942 in Africa, 1943 in Sicily, June 6, 1944 in Normandy, France. He was awarded the Bronze Star E.T.O. Ribbons, eight major campaign stars, Invasion Arrowhead, and Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged in October of 1945 and went into the restaurant business in Brillion. In 1952, he started working at Ariens Company as a tool and dye maker retiring in 1976.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Brillion, the American Legion Becker Bloedorn Jensen Post No. 126 of Brillion.

Survivors include one sister, Marie Aahrus, Alexandra, Val; two half-sisters and spouses, Rita and Clarence Seidl, Marion and Paul Skarvan, all of Manitowoc; one brother and two sisters-in-law, George and Albina Orth, Grace Orth, all of Manitowoc; four half-brothers and Spouses, Ralph and Audrey Orth, New Holstein, Clifford and Rita Orth, Cato, Francis and Betty Orth, Manitowoc, John and Carolyn Orth, Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one brother-in-law and seven half-brothers and sisters.
