Johnny excelled at boxing as he was an undefeated Golden Gloves Boxing Champion.
He was very proud of his Native American heritage. He was a full blood member of the Muscogee Creek and Seminole tribes and was fluent in his native language. Johnny will always be remembered as a renowned Master Artist of Native American Art.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Johnny Moore Tiger Sr; Brothers, Jerome Tiger and Kenneth Tiger; Sister, Melochee “Mary” Tiger; Maternal Grandparents, Hepsy Scott Lewis and Rev. Coleman Lewis; Paternal Grandparents, Parnoskey and Melochee Birdhead Cumseh; and beloved nephew, Chris Tiger.
Johnny is survived by his Son, Tony John Tiger of Muskogee, OK; Granddaughter, Evie Tiger; Grandson, Dylan Tiger of Muskogee OK; Mother, Lucinda Lewis Tiger of Eufaula, OK; Brother, Marcy Tiger and wife Sandy of Lorton, VA; Sister, Rosalie “Rita” Tiger of Muskogee, OK; beloved Nieces, Dana Tiger and husband Donnie Blair, of Muskogee, OK and Lisa Tiger, of Santa Fe NM; Sister In Law, Peggy Tiger of the home, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends who will miss him dearly.
A wake service will be held from 7:00-10:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the West Eufaula Indian Baptist Church.
Funeral services honoring Johnny’s life will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Eufaula, Oklahoma with Rev. Norman Daniel and Deacon Richmon Colbert officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eufaula, Oklahoma with Michael Tiger, John Timothy, Larry Tiger, Coleman Lisan Tiger Blair, Sean Coleman Stroble, and Roger Hewin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Osborn, Dave Williams, Richard Palmer, Donnie Blair, Marcy Coleman Tiger, Vernon Jerome (Jay) Stroble, John Scott Jr, Joey Morton, Raymond Nordwall, and Eddie Chuculate.
