Mary Acton was the daughter of Nathaniel Acton (1805-1860) and Jane McDivett (1812-1883.) She was born in Maine as the family moved south from Canada after immigrating from Londonderry, Ireland. Mary married William J. Hill in Philadelphia in 1852. She was the mother of Adam, William, Alexander, Nathaniel, Jennie, Margaret, Eva, & Lilly. She died of Arterio Sclerosis in Philadelphia and is buried at Mt. Moriah.
