He was an Air Force veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8101.
He worked for Union Wire Rope for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and John Abrams, and two daughters, Barbara and Brenda Abrams.
His survivors include his wife of 37 years, Neoma Abrams of the home; a daughter, Brandi Abrams of Kansas City, MO; three sons, Douglas McKinney and wife, Ruth of Sylva, NC; Steve Abrams of Kansas City, MO; and Gary Abrams and wife, Ann of Independence, MO; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Leslie Abrams of Culver, KS; Jim Abrams and Richard Abrams, both of Skidmore, MO; and Doyt Abrams of Blue Springs, MO.
Friends may call tonight at the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Services will be Friday at the Heart of God Fellowship Church, Buckner. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
