Arnet W. “Abe” Abert, 74, of Big Beaver, died Sunday, August 30, 1998, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born Aug. 2, 1924, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Frederick and Christina Martin Abert, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was retired from the East Works of the Babcock & Wilcox Co., and was a member of the Homewood United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters and three sons-in-law; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; four sisters and a brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Carl, John and Julius Abert, and two sisters, Martha Greiner and Olga Fleischer.
Private services will be held today at 11 a.m. in the Lutton Chippewa Funeral Home, 117 Blackhawk Road. The Rev. Russell Smith of the Homewood United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Private interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.
