Viola R. "Pete" Crawford, 69, Independence, was found dead Oct. 26, 1994, at the home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel, where Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary services will be at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association. Mrs. Crawford was born in Jackson County and lived in Independence most of her life. She was a 35-year member of the Eagles Auxiliary and a member of the Retired Eagles Activities Club. Her husband, William D. Crawford, died in 1983. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ellen Powers, Independence, and Loutheria Jane West, Jefferson City; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
