Mary Elzoria McAlister Kinsey, 94, of Cornelia died Wednesday at a private health care facility following an extended illness.

She was the daughter of the late Benjamin McAlister and Estell Elrod McAlister. She was a homemaker and a member of Baldwin Church of God. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Kinsey; daughter, Gertrude Kinsey; son, David Kinsey; brothers, Lawrence McAlister, Albert McAlister, Tommy McAlister, Sudie McAlister and Clarence McAlister; and sister, Lola Standridge.

Survivors include her daughters, Vera Shelnut and Evelyn Chosewood, both of Cornelia, and Willie Mae Hooper, Demorest; sons, Homer Kinsey, Cleveland, Waymon "Curly" Kinsey, Mount Airy, and Roy Kinsey, Gainesville; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Macedonia Methodist Church. The Rev. Austin Ivester and the Rev. Garvis Kinsey will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
