Published obituary:
David Taylor, an old soldier, who removed with his family to this city several months ago from Cross Timbers in Hickory County, died at his home in the north part of town last Friday night after a long illness, of cancer. Mr Taylor, while not having lived here a very long time, and while not enjoying a very large acquaintanceship among our citizens was, nevertheless, a splendid citizen and enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community in the hour of their bereavement. Funeral services conducted by Reverend C A Erdman, pastor of the M E Church, were held at the home last Saturday afternoon, after which interment was made in the city cemetery.
