Bessie King, 82, daughter of Emma and Amos Wright, was born October 20, 1899, in Cross Timbers, Missouri, and passed away September 19 at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Cedar Springs.

She was united in marriage to Rennie Taylor who preceded her in death in 1937. Later she was married to Joseph E King who passed away in 1970.

Survivors include two daughters, Hazel McCormick and Edith Kaufman of El Dorado Springs; four stepchildren, Vernon King, Clarence King, Doris Moody and Erma Ray of Kansas City; one brother, Nathan Wright, of Houstonia, Missouri; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Services were held Wednesday, September 22, at the Hackleman-Peterman Chapel with Reverend Bill Riddle officiating. Burial was in El Dorado Springs Cemetery. Music was provided by Florence Mitchell and Helen Riddle. Pallbearers were Elton Tolivar, Ual Baker, Charles May, Jim Darnell, Wayne Tolivar and Ray Headley.
