ALLAN, G. Bruce - 92, Halifax, passed away September 29, 2003, in The New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax, with his daughter at his side. Born in Bayside, N.B., he was a son of the late Frank and Ethel (Davis) Allan. He served overseas during the Second World War with the R.C.A.F. Bruce was employed as a traveler with Commercial Equipment for a number of years and he was also manager. After working with Commercial Equipment, he joined his late wife Margaret in the operation of Allan's Drug Store on Windmill Road, Dartmouth. He is survived by daughter, Janene (Earl) Chase, Port Howe; grandsons, Emmerson, Port Howe; Alroy, Elmsdale; brothers, Silver, Dartmouth; Jack, Halifax; sisters, Doreen (Douglas) MacKenzie, Kitimat, B.C.; Mary, Halifax; Hester, Vancouver; Beryl (Tom) Arab, Kingston; Ann (Maurice) Doucet, Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Wood); brother, Max; sister, Mildred. Visitation will be held today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Thursday in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in his name may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your personal choice. The service will take place in Truro due to the storm damage in Halifax and the fact that the interment is at that location.
