William Harold Dyer, age 67 of Blairsville, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005 in North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.
Mr. Dyer was born November 15, 1937 in Union County, GA, a son of the late Rance and Allie (Dial) Dyer. He had lived in Kentucky for several years, but had moved back to Blairsville in 2003. Mr. Dyer was a member of Sharp Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Ky, but attend Old Liberty Baptist Church in Blairsville. He was a U S Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Dyer was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Melson.
Survivors include: wife, Judith Dyer of Blairsville, GA, son, Keith and Davine Dyer of Gulfport, Miss, brother, James Dyer of Fayetteville, GA, brother, Wayne Dyer of Charleston, SC, brother, Roy Dyer of Lexington, GA, brother, Alvin Dyer of Blairsville, GA, sister, Florence Baxley of Blairsville, GA, grandson, Jason and Peggy Dyer of Gulfport, Miss, step granddaughter, Moriah Daniels of Gulfport, Miss, step grandson, Brandon Daniels of Gulfport, Miss.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Top Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Preston Wallace, Calvin Collins, Calvin Hood, Troy Collins, Herbert Dyer, F. C. Collins. Honorary pallbearer Doug Dyer.
The family will receive friend Saturday, April 9 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
